My history

My name is Alexis Milleret. Originally from Burgundy and now based in Montpellier, I have always been driven by a deep passion for creation, whether expressed through images or music. These two disciplines represent for me sincere means of expression, intimately linked to my personal journey.

Through Yharnam, my illustration project, I bring to life biomechanical, gothic, surreal and industrial universes, fueled by the imaginaries of dark fantasy and science fiction.

My work draws heavily on the subconscious, dreams and inner visions, while also being part of a collaborative approach with many artists from the music scene.

I therefore support groups and projects in the design of their visual identity and artistic direction.

Alongside my work as an illustrator, I am a musician and singer in the black metal band Silhouette.

This project allows me to explore themes such as loss, introspection, memory, and erased recollections, both through albums and stage performances. These different forms of creation feed off each other and contribute to the construction of a coherent artistic universe, where image and sound are in constant dialogue. Regardless of the medium, my primary aim is to materialize visions that refuse to remain silent.

Inspired by the great works of science fiction and fantasy, as well as by artists and authors such as Zdzisław Beksiński, HR Giger, Frank Herbert, HP Lovecraft, Enki Bilal, Tsutomu Nihei, Olivier Ledroit, Philippe Druillet or Kentaro Miura, I am developing a visual universe where dark fantasy, biomechanics, Art Nouveau and cosmic surrealism meet.

My creations originate from the dreams, nightmares, and questions that our era inspires in me. Through them, I explore recurring themes such as blindness, sovereignty, bodily transformation, cosmic mysteries, architecture, the fall, and the unknown. Behind the horror and melancholy often lies a search for poetry, meaning, and hope.

Affiliated with the Dark Art movement, I collaborate with musicians, bands and publishing houses to create album covers, book covers, concert posters, t-shirt designs, logos and illustrations.

Music holds an essential place in my artistic expression. It is a constant presence in my daily life, shaping both my imagination and my creative practice.

My earliest musical discoveries came through French popular music before leading me to rock, and eventually to a wide range of genres spanning from minimalist electronic music to the most extreme forms of metal. To this day, these diverse influences continue to shape the way I compose and approach sound.

Like my journey in the visual arts, my musical path has been entirely self-taught. I have been playing guitar for over fourteen years, gradually expanding my practice to include vocals, keyboards, composition, and mixing.

Rather than focusing on technical virtuosity, I have always been drawn to emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling. These disciplines have allowed me to develop a personal musical language through which I can express stories that are deeply intimate and profoundly personal.

Since 2020, I have been the vocalist of the Montpellier-based black metal band Silhouette. Signed to Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions, the band released an EP in 2022 followed by its debut full-length album in 2024.

Our work draws inspiration from dreams, psychology, philosophy, grief, memory, and humanity's relationship with itself. We create introspective, cinematic music where violence, fragility, and contemplation coexist.

The lyrics, co-written with Ondine, explore deeply personal themes. This tension between softness and aggression, light and darkness, lies at the heart of Silhouette: a chiaroscuro sonic landscape shaped as much by black metal as by post-rock, post-hardcore, and ambient music. Rather than adhering to a defined style, we strive above all to create an identity that is uniquely our own, free from the boundaries imposed by genre.
